The Chemistry Section of the Faculty of Science is located in the building at Hlavova 8. The Vice-Dean for the Chemistry Section is Dr. Ivan Němec, Ph.D.
The Chemistry Section consists of six Departments:
Analytical Chemistry (Head: Prof. Zuzana Bosáková);
Inorganic Chemistry (vedoucí doc. RNDr. Vojtěch Kubíček, Ph.D.);
Biochemistry (Head: Prof. Petr Hodek);
Physical & Macromolecular Chemistry (Head: Prof. Tomáš Obšil);
Organic Chemistry (Head: Assoc. Prof. Jindřich Jindřich);
Teaching and Didactics of Chemistry (Assoc. Prof. Petr Šmejkal).

Biochemistry (guarantor: Assoc. Prof. Markéta Martínková; Czech only);
Clinical and Toxicological Analysis (KATA) (guarantor: Prof. Zuzana Bosáková; Czech only);
Medicinal Chemistry (guarantor: Assoc. prof. Jan Veselý; Czech only);
Chemistry (guarantor: prof. RNDr. Jan Kotek, Ph.D; Czech only);
Chemistry and Physics of Materials (guarantor: Prof. Ivan Němec; Czech only);
Chemistry Oriented at Education (combined study of two programmes; guarantor: Assoc. Prof. Václav Martínek; Czech only);

Bachelor’s examinations in all programmes consist of at least two parts: defence of a bachelor’s thesis and taking exams defined by the curriculum (Karolinka; Czech only). A list of topics for bachelors’ theses is available in the SIS at the beginning of the academic year in the application Registration of Bachelor’s and Diploma Theses. Students usually choose the topics for their bachelor’s theses in the third year of study.
